Wine Shindig

Explorations in wine, particularly Pinot Noir and non-Chardonnay whites. Cheers!

Bliss Cabernet Sauvignon

June23

Bliss Cabernet Sauvignon

I’d tried their Pinot Noir, but this was my first experience with Bliss Vineyards‘ Cab Sauv. A special occasion called for Kevin Rathbun Steak where the Bliss Cabernet Sauvignon was an excellent accompaniment to the steaks (our group had mostly filets and cowboy ribeyes), as well as to the Portabella Steak Fries, my favorite item on the menu.

According to the Bliss tasting notes:

Tasting Notes
This structured Cabernet displays blueberry and spicy fruit on the nose with a dark berry and minty taste combined with integrated oak leading you to a dark chocolate finish.

Food Pairings
Versatile enough to pair with everything from aged cheeses to your choice cut of steak.
Perfect with barbecued chicken, lamb chops, or your favorite filet.
